Do you provide ABA therapy in the home?
No. Shining Star Clinic provides center-based ABA therapy at our Silver Spring clinic.
What ages do you serve?
Our current center-based program serves children ages 2–12.
Do you accept Maryland Medicaid?
Yes. We accept Maryland Medicaid and also work with commercial plans. Benefits and authorization requirements are verified for each member during intake.
Which commercial plans do you work with?
Our confirmed plans include Kaiser, UnitedHealthcare, Wellpoint, Aetna, CareFirst, and Cigna. Coverage can vary by specific plan and member benefit, so we verify benefits before treatment starts.
Is there a waitlist?
We currently do not have a waitlist to begin the intake process. Treatment start dates still depend on clinical assessment, required documentation, payer authorization, staffing, and the schedule that fits your child’s needs.
Do you diagnose autism?
No. Shining Star Clinic provides ABA therapy; we do not perform autism diagnostic evaluations. If your payer requires a diagnosis or referral, our intake team can tell you what documentation is needed.
What should I have ready when I call?
Your insurance plan name and basic contact information are enough to begin the conversation. If you already have a diagnosis, referral, or other payer documents, keep them available; please do not send medical records or Social Security numbers through this landing page.
